On Using Facebook Ads

Facebook ads have gradually increased their shard of the online marketing pie. Regardless of whether you are aiming to increase site traffic, looking to build leads or improve your brand equity, a targeted Facebook ad campaign can help you bring in the crowd.

Today  a lot of marketers prefer to use Facebook ads over other online mediums to promote their pages, groups, social media platforms and even websites.

Before you start creating your Facebook ad campaign, you should decide on a budget and audience segment. The text for every ad should be customized according to the demographics. Your Facebook ad should have a unique (catchy) title, text body and a picture.

Once you have logged into Facebook, go to the Facebook advertising page. Now you can take the help of Facebook tool to design your ad. Next you can type your URL, add text and upload an image. Next you can make a list of customer characteristics and include or exclude people from different demographics. Now you will have to choose between Pay Per Click and Pay Per Impression advertising options.

When you choose PPC it means that you are ready to pay a certain amount every time a user clicks on your advertisement. If you select Pay Per Impression (CPM), you specify the amount that you are willing to pay for every 1000 impressions. Usually, there is a very small difference in the pricing of both these options. You can either set a daily budget limit or a monthly budget limit and you can also stop the Facebook ads at any desired time.

Lastly, before you submit your ad, you should review it and make sure that everything is in place. Once the ad is submitted, Facebook will hold it for approval. This process takes about 24 hours. You can easily monitor the progress of your Facebook ad campaign through your dashboard.

If you have linked your Facebook ad to any external URL (like your website), you should ensure that the landing page is interesting and carries a targeted message especially designed for Facebook visitors. A word of advice try to avoid liking Facebook ads to your site’s hompage, unless of course your homepage has some message for people coming from Facbook.
