Better Homes has been leading the real estate revolution in Dubai and the Middle East since 1986. The company has grown into a 400+ workforce catering to a diverse range of property services such as, residential and commercial sales and leasing, short stays, property management, and project sales and marketing. Better Homes has also made its presence felt in international markets across the world with our exciting range of properties that cater to the homeowner and the investor.

Challenge

The project was the design upgrade for Better Homes' existing site. The major turn in Dubai's real estate trends caused by global economic slump called for strategic design changes to the client's site. The upgraded design was to be more appealing to customers with persuasive calls to action and enhancement in property search. New offers and services offered by the client were to be put on the site's forefront inspiring instant customer action. Property display was to be made more dynamic with instant information on hand for better user response. All these and other actions were to draw more quality traffic to the site and make property search easier and more effective.

Goals

The goals of the redesign project were simple but not very easy to achieve - to increase the quality traffic flow to the site that would result in increased lead generations and thus increased sales, and to make internal property search extremely easy and productive to accelerate the transaction process. Better Homes also wanted to emerge as a global display portal with its extensive property inventory. This all was of course to be achieved via an appealing design that's not just an eye candy but also inspires the user to browse, search or inquire about a property and ultimately become a customer.

Strategy

The site's redesign project was preceded by a comprehensive market research aimed at getting insights into the latest real estate industry trends in Dubai in particular and the world in general. Traffic's industry experts gathered the required information not only though online research, but also via physical visits to local property agents and potential buyers. This first hand information was enriched side by side with the latest market news, articles and reports to add strength and efficacy to the redesign project.

Once Traffic had gathered all required data that would suffice for an effective design upgrade, the project was all ready to begin. Traffic's graphic designers began to recreate Better Homes' site design based on the findings of our market research. The upgraded design incorporated effective calls to action such as the one on the site's top asking the user to quickly 'Make an Offer' for their favorite property in Dubai and across the UAE. The action buttons were redesigned and were made more prominent to attract faster user response. Icons were redesigned for the same purpose and to give the site an additional interactive look. The resultant interface was a well balanced platform which not only provided useful information, but also inspired the user to take the required action such as browse, search and inquire about properties and ultimately buy, sell or rent a property and more.

New Icons

The upgraded design featured a dynamic flash-based 'Recommended Property' panel flashing attractive images of the available properties with information tags containing price, area, name, type and status (for sale or for rent)of the property. Additionally, each recommended property leads to its detail page which also lists similar properties under the selected one providing more options to the user. Moreover, all the services of Better Homes were summarized and made handier in the shape of four newly designed interactive icons 'Find', 'Sell or Lease', 'Manage', and 'Learn'. The 'Find' icon leads to the enhanced advanced property the site that makes property search extremely easy and targeted. The 'Sell or Lease' icon lands the user on the property inquiry page. The 'Manage' icon leads the user to property management page designed specifically for landlords. And the final 'Learn' icon lands he user on the page where website legends are explained.

New Graphics

The site search was enhanced and made simpler and more productive. One major enhancement was 'Refine your Search' which allowed the user to find the exact property they're looking for. The new advanced search also allows the users to search property by keyword, reference number and consultant name.

Accomplishments

The upgraded design was not only more appealing and compact, but also interactive and loaded with effective calls to action. The design upgrade was soon followed by increased volumes of quality traffic and more lead generations. The inquiries also mounted rapidly and conversions also saw a notable surge. Enhanced property search and similar property lists also contributed greatly to the client's increased sales. It's not been long since the redesign project was launched and the seeing the present success level of the client it's not hard for Traffic to predict an even brighter future for Better Homes.
