Established in 1998 and located in the heart of Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road, Royal Flowers are the importer, exporter, wholesaler & retailer of fresh and dried flowers. Royal Flowers offers a wide range of floral arrangements using varieties of flowers and foliage with traditional skills to create exquisite bouquets. With a dedicated team of over 11 trained florists and a fleet of chilled delivery vans operating from the company's modern, air-conditioned studio, Royal Flowers delivers flowers throughout the UAE. The company also offers the only flower school in the UAE.
Challenge
Royal Flowers have been operating for quite a long time offline but wanted to make a head start online for the following reasons: to make, create, promote and sustain their fresh corporate image and business identity; and to expand into the international industry by reaching out to a global audience. The project was of a very unique nature and Traffic's web experts were all ready to embrace it providing the flower business with an attractive and lasting image.
Goals
As mentioned above, all of Traffic's design efforts were aimed at helping Royal Flowers to make a tangible entry on the web and expanding their flower business into the global market.
New Site
Strategy
Given the singularity of the client's business, Traffic's pre-design industry research turned out to be an extremely interesting phase. It was fun, our researchers said, to study the flowers market of the region and discover where the potential markets lay. The team was surprised to discover that the demand for fresh flowers, bouquets and other floral services that Royal Flowers offered exceeded their expectations. No matter what type and size, all business and households needed such services on special days, events and festivals. Traffic's design team also took a deep insight into the design trends for such businesses via their market research.
The study helped the designers to create a new website for Royal Flowers that truly reflected what their business was all about besides providing them with a lasting image that was as freshening as the fresh flowers they dealt in.
The colors, design, and animations used on the site created a true identity for the flower business. The website's taxonomy was also kept as simple and friendly to the user as possible. The addition of flower gallery to the site added to its appeal for the general users besides educating them about different kinds of floral arrangements and their use. And it goes without saying that Traffic used the latest design techniques and development technologies such as HTML, CSS, .NET, SQL Server. We left no stone unturned to meet all
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and
W3C standards all through the project.
Accomplishments
The design created by Traffic was literally one of a kind. It presented the company's true business and gave it an identity that will last a long time.
