Also the list of features you wish to have incorporated in your new design can have an impact on lead times. For further information and a matching production quote get in touch with us today.
What types of sites do you design?
Traffic Online Media Solutions design websites for all types of businesses in many different industries and have extensive collective experience in doing so. Whether you are looking for a small brochure-driven website or a large-scale enterprise edition portal we can accommodate any professional approach and execute most requirements. The Traffic team is also technically proficient to supply social media, eCommerce, and governmental, directory driven or promotional web sites. Our company methodologies and approach to your web project is research-based and we undertake analysis and planning procedures before we begin production to ensure that you get the right online solution for your business.
Do you provide other types of design services?
Traffic's design services are limited to online communications design only, whether this is web-driven design or mobile-driven design. We do not supply creative design for any other remit outside of online communication channels; there are many other companies out there who can undertake this for you. However we do work closely with branding and advertising agencies in conjunction with translating your artwork or branding collateral online.
Why should I hire Traffic when I know a guy that knows a guy who can design my site at a fraction of the cost?
There will always be someone who designs websites cheaper than us. This is true in any industry and we are all free to make our own educated decisions on who we choose to work with. We respect your right to undertake your web project with another service-provider should you find our quote unacceptable for your budget. That said, we are incredibly cost-effective and endeavour to provide a premium service at reasonable prices. We only employ individuals whom we consider to be among the best in their field. Traffic's MD has worked in online production and emarketing initiatives for nearly 15 years. We boast a long list of previous customers and have received glowing responses and applause from all of them, many of which are large international companies.
When you are considering undertaking a web project you must always bear in mind that your web communications channel is probably the principal window through which most the world views your company. You are judged heavily by your online presence and it is vital you instill confidence and security in each and every individual that visits your site, as well as providing them with a pleasant viewing experience and access to a wealth of data about the services and products you provide. In life you get what you pay for; buy a cheap product from an inexperienced service-provider and you will inevitably have to pay a professional organisation like Traffic at a later date to rectify the damage. In this business it really does pay to deal with experienced specialists first time around.
Can I choose you to design my site and use my own web hosting?
Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you just have to provide us with your web hosting ftp login username and password so that we can upload your website for you.
Do you provide ongoing site maintenance once you have finished the design project?
Yes we provide ongoing site maintenance and upgrades to keep your site looking fresh. We usually work this by way of a fee paid monthly or a 'retainer' fee. By using this service you pay a flat rate (determined by the size of your project and your budget) for access to most of Traffic Online Media Service’s solutions. Contact us for further information on this option.
How many pages/sections can I have on my site?
You can have as many or as few as you like - the choice on the amount of pages and sections that you have on your website is yours. Traffic will advise on the optimum number of pages during the consultation once we have accessed your site. As always it is about quality of content and not quantity.
Who owns the website design once completed?
Traffic Online Media Solutions relinquish all copyrights on visual material produced for your online endeavours. Under this agreement you are granted exclusive global rights to use visual material produced by us for the purposes of your online needs outlined in any agreements between both parties. We do object to you altering the creative we provide you with as we want to ensure the integrity of the original artwork supplied is not diminished; we also prefer you not to supply this content for third parties to use. Please see our terms of service for more information on this subject.
I already have a website but it needs drastic attention and updates, can you help me?
Yes we can. Get in touch today. We will analyse your situation and supply you with an outline of the necessary action required, as well as quotes, so that you can make an educated decision on whether to enlist our services.
Do you redesign existing websites?
If your website has already become outdated due to poor initial design or the advance of Internet-based technologies rendering your site obsolete then we would be happy to undertake a redesign of your web site. Our services are quality-driven and our practices of execution abide by modern and future proof production techniques. So if your online brand and communication channel need a fresh and exciting look and feel, you have come to the right place.
You can read more about our website redesign services here.
What do I do if I do not like the designs you submit for my new website?
Before initiating your web design project we undertake extensive business analysis and research which compares available business metrics. This process takes in but is no way limited to your products and services, your market, your geo location, existing company information and collateral, branding documentation, your future objectives and business strategies. This information is then fed through to our creative designers to ensure that from the outset we provide you the right designs. However if you are not entirely satisfied with what you see we are quite happy to change these under your guidance until you have a web design that you are 100% happy with implementing. We never ever force clients to take something they are not happy with as customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to us. What we do expect is that you reciprocate this elasticity by also listening to our suggestions on correct implementation. We have many years of collective experience in this field and can provide you with designs that really perform in line with your expectations.
Can I make design changes after I have approved the design and it is in production?
Yes you can make changes to the website design after you have signed off the original design. You can do this at any stage throughout production and before the site goes live. However you have to be aware that there is a cost associated with changing your mind after you have signed off the original design and you will be charged an hourly rate to make your changes or modifications. If such a situation arises you will be duly notified and be required to agree in writing to any costs you may incur before we implement your changes.
Technical Questions
Yes. Every website we design uses techniques that allow all Internet users surfing the web with up-to-date or slightly older browsers and operating systems to see your site as it was originally designed and intended to be seen. Our sites are designed to be compliant with browsers Internet Explorer 5.5/6/7, Firefox 1.5/2/3, Opera 9/9.5 and Safari 3+. These specifications suffice for most users.
How do you test your interface code to guarantee high quality?
All HTML is tested using W3C HTML valuation to assure web standards compliance and integrity. In addition all pages will be passed through the W3C link checker to eliminate or fix empty or dead links. Where dual platforms (Microsoft Windows / Apple OSx) exist, pages are tested on both in a variety of browsers.
Do you provide guarantees my site will be available 100% of the time?
We cannot provide a 100% guarantee your site will be available to the general public 100% of the time this is because of external factors out of our control including but not limited to the following: Third party hosting company down time or general maintenance issues, domain related problems, Internet service provider (ISP) issues, problems related to your computer or Internet access hardware. However if you have an existing client-based relationship with our company we do endeavour to help you in all instances correct the issues as soon as possible through means of consultation or direction. If in the rare case that downtime of your site is caused by Traffic this will be rectified immediately at no extra cost to your organisation.
Do you provide web hosting?
We do not provide web hosting for our clients. The reason we do not offer this is that there are many web hosting companies that supply these services in a highly professional way; we can advise you on the best hosting company to suit your requirements through our network of existing contacts. Another reason that Traffic does not offer web hosting is that we do not feel comfortable operating as resellers of hosting services and profiteering at our clients' expense. You can obtain these services much cheaper by going directly to the source.
What products do you use to design websites?
For Web publishing, we use several tools to write the code for your website. All of our web programmers and interface coders code "by hand" meaning they do not need a code generator to write the characters. They do it from memory in the most efficient way possible. Our code is clean, table-less and strictly validated by the W3C.
For Web graphics, we use Adobe Photoshop because it provides clear, compressed graphics that load fast so as not to keep your visitors waiting. Some other products that we use include Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Flash.
Does my site need a CMS to administer and control the web interface?
We would advise that most sites of a large scale (upwards of 8-10 pages) obtain a web content management system ((WCMS)) to successfully administer and update content within the site. Traffic offers a Web Content Management System solution as part of our service deliverables and you can find out more about this here.
Can you integrate my new site design with my CRM software?
Yes we can work with all CRM software tools in the following areas: Operational CRM, Analytical CRM, Sales intelligence CRM, Campaign Management, Collaborative CRM and Consumer Relationship CRM. In this instance we may require technically specific information from you with regards to your CRM set up, for which our technical representatives will contact you. We also operate on internationally accredited standards of data protection and privacy ensuring at all times any access to CRM solutions and company data held within are retained intact and under no circumstances divulged to third parties.
Do you offer SPAM protection on my contact and data collection tools?
If you have an online presence then you will automatically become the target of spammers and junk emails. Most unsolicited emails contain unwanted advertising, transmit viruses, adware or spyware to your computer hardware causing problems. Our anti-spam techniques are designed to stop emails that contain spam and viruses before they reach you. The techniques our websites employ also analyse the characteristics of new spamming methods as they arise to limit unwanted future intrusions.
Search Engine Related Questions
All website developments we undertake are constructed using modern production techniques that ensure your site is search engine friendly besides being user friendly.
See our high standards section for more information.
You designed my site however it is not showing in search engines, why is this?
Most sites upon completion and launch are not available in the search engines straight away. Most search engines require a few weeks or months to crawl your site and accordingly update their databases. It is worthwhile once your site has been built to instruct Traffic's a href="http://www.wewanttraffic.com/ebusiness/seo/index.aspx">search Engine Optimisation programme which can help you gain high rankings and targeted traffic to your site.
I need content for my site, will you help with this?
We do provide a service called 'Content Production' that allows you to enlist at a cost the help of Traffic's web content writers. As part of your web upgrade or new website project they will analyse your business using existing collateral you may have available or associated industry collateral and construct page text in a tone and language particular to your business objectives and goals.
How can I see how many people visit my site?
We employ statistical programs that log and compare many metrics on your site. And we also take data from server logs. This information can be extremely powerful for understanding the performance levels of your site and identifying areas for improvement. The web data we provide you with can also help in optimising your site for search engines and for future marketing initiatives. We can also add a free tool via Google Analytics to your site which you can access whenever you wish to see your website statistics. However you have to sign up to use this service and supply us the required code to embed throughout your site. We also provide a web metrics and consultation service for a nominal fee which allows you to tailor your stats to your required needs and obtain consultation services on recommended areas of improvement within your website. This service usually comes bundled with our search engine optimisation service.
Business Related Questions
This is very easy, firstly get in-touch with us via phone or email and one of our company representatives will contact you directly to arrange a meeting to gather all your requirements. After we have these documented we will then supply you with a production proposal (usually within 24 hrs) that details all the required steps and work remits as well as a production timeline and cost associated with the web delivery project.
What is the associated cost for a new website design?
Cost for your web project can vary depending on how much work is required. Each client that approaches us has different website deliverables and each of these takes different skill sets and man hours to complete. We operate on hourly rates and these are factored into your project and are included in the quote proposal that we deliver you.
What is your payment policy for new website design projects?
All web projects that are above a certain defined price (available on request and differs dependent on your local currency) require 50% of the total amount payable upon project approval by you. Once the initial 50% deposit has been made Traffic then starts production work. The final 50% payment is deposited into the Traffic business account at the end of the building stage before we place the website live for your general use. Smaller projects like eMarketing initiatives utilise different payment plan structures as do search engine optimisation projects. Please visit the relevant sections on this site to see more information on these service related payment plans.
How do you manage the web site design project?
We work closely with you on all levels to help you realise your web design project as swiftly as possible and in most cases to your deadline. Once the project is underway we provide you with a development web address that is unique to you and allows you to monitor at anytime the ongoing work on your particular web project account. In tandem with this we also supply you access to Concert our in house web project management tool. Concert allows you to login and deposit issue reports, change request and log any tasks you would like undertaken that falls within the established scope of your particular project. The reason why we require you to use Concert is that this drastically cuts down on margins for error and misunderstandings that can result from sending multiple requests via email or telephone. Our production staff has 24 hr access to Concert and if someone in the team is ill or your account manager is in a meeting it ensures that another fully trained individual can pick up your request without incurring long delays.
How do I supply you with input data?
With all web projects we require certain collateral to help us fulfill our contracted duties on your behalf. We require all image and textual data to be delivered in a comprehensible and high quality format that is useable for the web. We also require that you thoroughly proofread for quality all input data before you hand it over to Traffic, ensuring that it contains no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. We cannot be held responsible for the publishing of input data supplied by you which may have errors originating at source; our terms of service clearly indemnify us from such issues. However if mistakes are detected we do endeavour to highlight any such discrepancies before these are released to the public forum. If we find that you are repeatedly altering text or images that you initially supplied to us we will naturally require you to pay an hourly charge for these changes (so it really does pay to ensure you quality check all input data before you release it to us).
Are there any hidden costs?
No this is a common misconception about web service providers, and has maybe resulted from the dubious practices of others. Once Traffic has delivered you a quote for your web project this is strictly adhered to. The cost will only increase if your start to require extra work outside of the initial agreement, upon such requests you are duly notified before such work commences.
Am I tied to you once my website is designed?
No. You are free to take your web interface to another company once we have been fully remunerated for the work completed to the original agreements. The only service you cannot take to another company is the content management system (CMS) we supply you. The content management system source code remains the property of Traffic Online Media Solutions in all instances and is non negotiable in transferal. You can find out more information relating to CMS use here.
