How Google made Money in 2011

Google is a for-profit corporation, and a marvelously powerful one at that. In 2011, Google generated $37.9 Billion in revenue, with a net profit of $9.7 Billion, making it one of the most profitable web corporations in the world. 

But how does Google make money? The answer lies with advertising! In fact, 96 per cent of Google’s revenue comes from AdWord advertising. Below is an infographic, created by WordStream, which highlights the various revenue streams, and the top ten industries (with leading companies) that spent the most on Google ads in 2011.
