The Mental Bend of Dubai Web Design

December 11, 2011 08:26

The Internet has changed the way people do business. The web has opened new avenues to small and medium sized businesses, and has given them a platform to compete with corporate entities on an equal footing. Today, with the right website, businesses can become more successful and open their products to a wider audience then ever before.

On the whole most internet interactions are based on demand: websites either give visitors what they want or watch them leave for competitions – it’s just that simple. To do well business websites need to be inviting, while fulfilling sales goals, and to do this web design plays a very important role.

A good website design creates an interface between technology and people, and allows businesses to present their information in a meaningful and purposeful manner. According to research, businesses get between 5 and 30 seconds to sell their main offering. 5 to 30 seconds is an eternity in internet marketing, and no business, no matter how big or small can afford to miss this window. Good web design layout makes sale points immediately visible, and helps visitors find valuable propositions right from the word go. From visuals to action-buttons and ad placements every element of a good web design layout helps abusiness engage visitors to the maximum.

The same web design rules apply to commercial websites operating in the Middle East. Middle East has witnessed stupendous growth in internet usage and traffic. According to Google stats, worldwide Internet traffic grew 62 per cent in 2010-11, with the Middle East boasting an impressive average traffic growth of just a little under 100 per cent. According to recent statistics from Internetworldstats.com Middle East added 68,553,666 new users between 2000 and 2011, with a mindboggling growth rate of 1,648 per cent. Middle East currently accounts for 3.4 per cent of world’s internet population, with an imposing internet penetration percentage (IPP) of 33.5 per cent, a figure which is 3.5 per cent higher than the world’s average.  Internet penetration in the Arab World is highest in the UAE with 74.1 percent, while Bahrain with 55.3 per cent and Qatar with 52.3 per cent occupy the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively.

If UAE is the epicentre of internet growth in the Middle East, then surely Dubai is the focal point of UAE’s internet prowess. The city is home to some of the best designers, developers, consultants and inbound marketers of the Middle East, all of whom have helped the region develop, what is now exclusively called, the “Dubai” website design, development and marketing strategy. What separates Dubai web design, development and marketing strategy from the likes of let’s say, Egypt or Qatar web design strategy is its emphasis on smoothness and ease of access, especially with regard to text, navigation, links, graphics and layout design. Apart from unique market characteristics, the philosophy of website design Dubai is driven from users demand for interfaces that resemble Television in their efficiency and user friendliness. This is the crux of this amazing design philosophy.

Indeed, businesses that seek quick conversions and leads, especially in the market of UAE, are using element of Dubai web design to the fullest. For instance brands like Kraft and Sorouh have set up websites that are not only pleasing, but are designed exclusively to help visitors find value propositions right of the bat – just like a TV ad.

"Having a web design that is both pleasing and usable is an absolute necessity, especially in the multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment of the Middle East," explained Johnny Huntington, Director Traffic, "Good working designs enable businesses to exploit local experiences, and helps them magnify their sales proposition to the fullest. I'd say that a working website design is indispensible in terms of value and importance".

Marina Mall’s New Look!

October 20, 2011 08:48

The iconic Dubai Marina Mall now has a new website!  The new site features the latest and the best in web design technologies and techniques and gives a cleaner, more modern look and feel to the Mall’s online presence, thus adding luster to Traffic’s web design Dubai portfolio.

The root of the new site’s design lay in Dubai Marina Mall need for a fresh looking website, to dust off the Mall’s old school online appearance. According to the Mall’s marketing team, the new site’s design needed to be:

 •  Professional
 •  Flexible
 •  Stylish
 •  Extremely User Friendly

In the words of Nadia Constatino, Sales & Accounts Manager, Traffic Online, “The fundamental idea was to set up a website which clearly communicated everything that Dubai Marina Mall represented. Our task was to take everything that Dubai Marina Mall does, everything it owns and everything it serves and carry it over to the virtual world in a presentable and professional manner.”

With these goals in mind, the Traffic team set out to give Marina Mall Dubai a fresh online identity.

The new site is all about style! The site features a simple yet appealing design, which is formed using the latest in web design techniques and applications. In terms of graphic design the site leans heavily on Traffic’s research on local consumer behavior, online marketing trends, and the latest AIDA techniques. A large flash banner and a custom-made image slider form part of this modernization. From the point of view of functionality the site sports smooth navigation which offers instant access to required information. In other words the site is designed to offer a perfect balance of beauty and functionality and can be considered the epitome of Traffic’s design strategy.

We believe that an operable web design is worth two inoperable web designs. The Marina Mall project was a perfect opportunity for our team to showcase our functional design ideology.” remarked Johnny Huntington, Managing Director Traffic Online. He further exclaimed: “I’m glad that we were able to meet and exceed the client’s expectations.”

We certainly are glad that Dubai Marina Mall is pleased with our graphic and layout designs and is happy with the site’s overall performance.
