JCPenney, one of the leading departmental store brands of United States, has set up shop on Facebook. JCPenny’s Facebook page allows consumers to buy clothes, share review, and tell friends about purchases.
JCPenny’s integration with Facebook started in October, when JCPenny
introduced the social platform’s “Like” button into its banner
ads. The
company currently has 1.4 million fans on Facebook, a figure which is
expected to increase as Christmas approaches.
The 97 year old company is not the first retailer to sell its products
using the social networking site. In August 2009, 1-800-Flowers,
started
offering Facebook-based transactions. Other companies like Delta
Airlines and Procter & Gamble are also runs e-commerce site on the
network.
With 500 million active users, Facebook is a very alluring market for
big and small business alike. Let see who’ll be next to open his/her
