Qatar has once again made its presence felt on the international broadband arena. The Emirate recently jumped two spots to become the country to boost the highest growth in household broadband usage in Q1-2011.

According to data from Point Topic, a leading websource on broadband statistics and country analysis, broadband penetration in Qatar skyrocketed at a time when broadband expansion in USA – a country famous for its internet escapades – stalled.
In comparison to Q4-2010 statistics, Qatar jumped two spots to lead Liechtenstein and Luxembourg in household penetration of broadband. United Arab Emirates and Bahrain also made it to the top ten rankings.
