ABOUT THIS ROLE

Traffic is currently seeking a passionate bi-lingual Social Media Intern to join our dynamic Social Marketing team. As part of our team, you will make an impact through your passion for and knowledge of social media and the part it plays in overall Digital Marketing for our clients.

The successful candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be creative, understand social networking and have a strong knowledge base in social media including different social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat and others.

This high-energy individual must be a self-directed independent thinker, keen learner and problem solver with the ability to think strategically about all aspects of social marketing and storytelling.

The candidate will be reporting to the Social Media Manager and also working closely with the content department team.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in creating original content to be posted to social media platforms by closely working with in-house creative and content team.
  • Develop monthly editorial calendars that enlighten, engage and entertain audiences in liaison with the Social Media manager. 
  • Schedule and post relevant content in accordance with content calendar using tools like hootsuite and percolate.
  • Monitor and moderate User Generated Content that appears on clients’ social communities and review and respond to comments and posts in a quick and timely manner. Foster a positive community and add value to the user’s experience.
  • Compile marketing statistics, analyze, and create monthly client reports using Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, and YouTube Analytics etc.
  • Conduct research into how brands are using social platforms and monitor competition and provide industry news, tracking trends using tools like RivalIQ.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • This internship will give students an insight into the operations of a digital marketing agency learning how the social media team operates closely with other digital marketing functions.
  • Interns will get a chance to work on some of the best-known brands across sectors, thereby learning and growing from this experience.
  • Interns will work under the direct supervision of the Social Media Managers, acting in supportive capacity to the social media team.
  • Interns will be given ongoing training and hands-on knowledge on the latest social media trends, tools and platforms that will help them build their personal portfolio.
  • An opportunity to be hired full time by the agency, if interns continue to deliver outstanding work and successfully meet all responsibilities given to them during the internship period.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations.
  • Must be able to work business hours Sunday-Thursday.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn & Instagram.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Google Docs.
  • Talent to write in varying tones, voices and styles in English and Arabic in order to meet the appetite of the different social platforms we market on.
  • Demonstrate effective management of the timely delivery of work against short deadlines
  • Ability to use the basic principles of customer service required for social media
  • Good attention to detail, excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Strong research skills across platforms and channels.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work well as a team with good cross-team communication skills.
